A generic name for Iranian Saffron is not enough for offer comparison. Select the required form or grade from Negin, Sargol, Pushal and other commercially defined grades and define the standard, application and acceptance limits.
Quality variables and measurement method
Coloring strength, aroma, flavor, moisture, foreign matter, cut and microbiological requirements need defined test methods.
Connect evidence to the lot and the decision
Core evidence may include Crop year, origin, ISO 3632 or agreed laboratory report, food-safety evidence; each item should be checked for issuer, date, batch or shipment reference and the decision it is intended to support.
Packaging, storage and transport
Typical packaging: Food-grade bulk packs or destination-compliant retail packs. Review its fit with the transport route, climate, destination handling and damage or contamination risks.
Price basis and offer comparison
Crop year, grade and cut, laboratory result, lot consistency, packaging and order size materially affect price.
Warning signs before contract
Adulteration, old crop, premium samples followed by weaker lots and unrelated laboratory reports are major risks.
Questions to resolve before discussing price
- Does the RFQ clearly include Grade, crop year, cut, laboratory limits, packaging, quantity and destination?
- What sampling or quality-control method and approval authority will apply?
- What currency, Incoterm, named place and weight or quantity basis apply to price?
- Which evidence is required before payment and before shipment?
- How will rejection, correction, damages or dispute resolution work if the lot is non-conforming?
