Define the product and acceptable range
A generic name for Iranian Steel Products is not enough for offer comparison. Select the required form or grade from Billet, slab, rebar, coil and selected mill products and define the standard, application and acceptance limits.
Quality variables and measurement method
Standard, grade, chemistry, mechanical properties, dimensions, tolerances and heat number should be clear for each shipment.
Connect evidence to the lot and the decision
Core evidence may include MTC, heat number, dimensions, weight basis and origin; each item should be checked for issuer, date, batch or shipment reference and the decision it is intended to support.
Packaging, storage and transport
Typical packaging: Mill-standard bundles, coils or export packing. Review its fit with the transport route, climate, destination handling and damage or contamination risks.
Price basis and offer comparison
Actual or theoretical weight basis, size, grade, mill, shipment volume, loading and freight must be stated with price.
Warning signs before contract
Mixed heats, actual-versus-theoretical weight gaps, out-of-contract tolerances and unrelated MTCs are common risks.
Questions to resolve before discussing price
- Does the RFQ clearly include Standard, grade, dimensions, tolerance, quantity, weight basis and shipment lot?
- What sampling or quality-control method and approval authority will apply?
- What currency, Incoterm, named place and weight or quantity basis apply to price?
- Which evidence is required before payment and before shipment?
- How will rejection, correction, damages or dispute resolution work if the lot is non-conforming?
